ABSTRACT

Objective To approach the dynamic change in the membrane protein on platelet microparticles of patient with anti-platelet therapy, and look for a new test which are helpful to supervise the anti-platelet therapy. Method We collected blood samples from the patient with myocardial infarction ( n =9) treated with ticlopidine (250 mg?2 in the first and second day, 250 mg/day from the third to sixth day)in different time (before treatment, and 4 d, 5 d, 6 d, 9 d, 10 d after treatment), and examine the percent of PAC-1 + PMP or CD62p + PMP in the samples by activating platelet with 20 ?mol ADP. Result By activating platelet with 20 ?mol ADP, the percent of CD62p + PMP at different time (before treatment, and 4 d, 5 d, 6 d, 9 d, 10 d after treatment) were 84.3%?3.6%, 81.4%?3.4%, 70.3%?2.7%, 70.6%?3.2%, 83.5%?2.8%, 85.4%?2.1%,as of PAC-1 + PMP were 85.3%?3.5%, 82.5%?2.2%, 72.3%?3.5%, 72.4%?3.3%, 85.4?3.4%, 86.0%?3.8%. The percent of CD62p + PMP and PAC-1 + PMP in 5 d obviously increase ( P

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the accuracy and sensitivity of three techniques in the diagnosis of renal diseases following multiple myeloma. Methods 41 serum samples from the kidney-damaged patients with multiple myeloma and 36 from the control group with general renal diseases were detected by quantitative analysis of immunoglobulins, serum protein electrophoresis and serum Immunofixation Electrophoresis. The accuracy and sensitivity of the three techniques were analysed by Two-way ANOVA and Multiple Comparisons of the check-out rate of monoclonal immunoglobulin. Results No monoclonal components were checked out by quantitative analysis of immunoglobulins. The checkout rate of IgG and IgM myelomas were 100% by serum protein electrophoresis, which had application limit on other types of myelomas. Whereas all secretarial myelomas could be diagnosed and typied by Immunofixation Electrophoresis, the sensitivity and accuracy was 100%, there was no false positive in the control group. Comparing with quantitative analysis of immunoglobulins and serum protein electrophoresis, serum Immunofixation electrophoresis had higher sensitivity and accuracy in diagnosis of renal diseases following multiple myeloma ( P

ABSTRACT

0.05).Conclusions Our results suggest that ascites contributes to the exaggerated fibrinolysis in cirrhosis, whereas cirrhosis self, in the absence of ascites, leads to a slightly fibrinolynic state. The t-PA/PAI imbalance was not a main cause of hyperfibrinolysis in patients with cirrhosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the change of serum homocysteine (Hcy) and plasma fibrinogen (Fg) levels in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases (ICVD) and the correlation between Hcy and Fg.Methods Blood samples were collected from 74 patients with ICVD and 40 controls. The concentrations of Hcy, folate and Fg were determinated by means of fluorescence polarization immunoassay, electrochemiluminescence, and immunoturbidimetry, respectively. In the meantime, plasma lipid was detected by routine method. Results Both Hcy and Fg levels in the patients with ICVD increased significantly as compared with the controls (all P0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that hypertension, high cholesterol, high Fg and high Hcy concentrations played significiant roles in ICVD.Conclusion Both hyperhomocysteinemia and hyperfibrinogenemia are independent risk factors of ICVD.
